Perfume Application: The How & Where?

Do you question if you apply your fragrance the correct way?

Worry not, there are no certain rules on how to put on your favourite scents. Below are some advices for you to optimally appreciate…

wrist? neck? chest? hair?

armpit? behind the ears? clothes?

Pulse & Hair

Fragrances require heat to portray their best aromas. Therefore, all areas where there is warmth such as pulse points where the blood vessels are nearest to the surface are ideal locations.

Common spots: On the wrists, the neck, behind the ears and chest area.

Similarly, perfume molecules combine well with hair…therefore a couple of sprays within your hair or chest hair can prove fruitful.

Quantity?

Typically, the concentration content is what determines the fragrances strength. Commonly, 2-4 sprays should suffice. But bear in mind; less is more, its critical you wear the right amount. Not too much to be too prominent and somewhat overwhelming, much rather enough to allow a good whiff when moving closer in proximity to someone, making it much more intimate.

And remember, before topping up ask someone else first if the aroma is still present. At times the brain may no longer register and be desensitised to the smell after prolonged use.

Rubbing fragrances after spraying?

Rubbing in perfume into the skin tends to warm up the oils faster, which quickens the development of the scent on the skin meaning you shall smell some of the top & heart notes faster. However, allowing it to naturally develop without rubbing is proven to be better for the aroma. And the rumour about extinguishing molecules is incorrect and physically impossible.

Perfume on one’s clothes?

Fragrances on clothes can prove to be very long lasting. However, care should be taken to initially test the oil on a material not in view ensuring no stains are left on gentle cloths such as wool & silk. The best way is to spray from a slight distance and on the inside of the textile.
