Damm – In the sacred journey of Hajj or Umrah, if a necessary act is missed or a restriction is unintentionally violated, Islam offers a gentle and meaningful way to make amends.
This involves offering a sacrifice of a sheep or goat (or 1/7th share of a larger animal), as a way of seeking forgiveness and fulfilling your obligation with sincerity.
At Shareefain, we carry out your Damm with complete care, ensuring the animal is healthy, ethically treated, and meets all the strict requirements of Zabiha compliance. Every step is done with the intention of serving Allah ﷻ and relieving the burden from you.
When is Damm Required?
Damm becomes necessary in situations such as:
- Applying perfume or cutting hair/nails while in Ihram
- Having physical intimacy while in Ihram
- Missing a Wajib act (e.g. entering Miqat without Ihram)
- Hunting or killing within the sacred boundaries of Makkah
Will I Be Informed?
Absolutely. Once you book, your responsibility is fulfilled in the sight of Allah ﷻ—but for your peace of mind, Shareefain will send confirmation and a video of your sacrifice once completed.
Where Does the Meat Go?
Your sacrifice becomes nourishment for the most vulnerable in the blessed cities. Recipients are carefully selected by our on-ground team through need assessments. Those who benefit include:
- Orphans
- Widows and single mothers
- Low-income families
- The disabled
- Internally displaced individuals
What’s Included in the Service?
- Purchase of the animal
- Cost of slaughter and butchering
- Packaging and hygienic distribution
- Veterinary care and transport
Through Shareefain, your Damm becomes more than a correction - it becomes a gift of compassion to those in need, and a step closer to the mercy of Allah ﷻ.
