Aqeeqah is a beautiful Sunnah and a meaningful way to express gratitude to Allah ﷻ, while seeking protection for your newborn from harm and hardship. It is a spiritual beginning filled with mercy and reward.

When is Aqeeqah Performed?

The Sunnah is to perform Aqeeqah on the 7th day after birth. If that’s not possible, it may be done on the 14th, 21st, or any following 7-day interval.
It’s best not to delay it unnecessarily.

As part of the Sunnah, £10 in Sadaqah is also given - equal to the weight of the baby’s hair in silver — as an act of purification and generosity.
