Fidyah – A Compassionate Way to Honour Missed Fasts
For those who are unable to fast during Ramadan due to valid reasons such as chronic illness or old age, Islam offers a gentle alternative: Fidyah. This heartfelt act allows you to feed someone in need as a way of making up for each missed fast – bringing comfort to others when you yourself are unable.
£6 feeds two meals - the compensation for one missed fast.
You can also give a custom amount based on how many fasts you’ve missed (e.g. £6 x number of days).
Where does your Fidyah go?
Your contribution goes directly to the most vulnerable pilgrims and residents in the sacred cities of Makkah and Madinah - many of whom have travelled from third world countries and face great financial hardship during their spiritual journey. Your Fidyah becomes a source of nourishment and relief for them in the holy lands.
Will I be informed when it’s done?
Yes. As soon as your booking is confirmed, the responsibility of fulfilling the Fidyah is taken care of by Shareefain with sincerity and trust. You will receive confirmation once it’s completed - but more importantly, you can rest assured that your intention has been honoured, and your reward preserved by Allah ﷻ.
